Staff Analysis of the Legislation
HB 817 does two things. It amends §40-8-74 of the O.C.G.A. by expanding the ability to install light transmission or light reflectance materials on windshields for those licensed with private detective and private security businesses to include any vehicle owned by that individual. It also amends §43-38-10 of the O.C.G.A. by revising the exemption from certain weapons carry laws for those licensed as private detectives and private security agents while in the course of their duties.
